VIPER GIN

Our distillery is in the beautiful Dorset village of Cerne Abbas. A friendly peaceful place inspires us to create and work on new and unique recipes for our products.
Our company name Avalon, the mystical and magical land from Arthurian legend, only to be discovered by the chosen few is also referred to as an ‘Isle of Apples’. This encouraged us to use crab apples in our London dry gin and name one of our stills Guinevere. However, whilst preparing our allotment in Sherborne we came across a rare site – an Adder (Vipera Berus) basking in the sun. Recognising that the Viper is entwined with the story of King Arthur and Avalon, Viper Gin was born!
Viper Gin is handcrafted in small batches in a copper still using English wheat spirit and ten carefully selected botanicals, notes of crab apple, citrus and juniper are balanced to create exceptionally smooth, fresh and memorable gin! While it makes a great cocktail base, it's every bit as good in a G&T – and there’s no sting in the tail.
Within our first year Viper London dry Gin received a Star Award from The Guild of Fine Food. This acknowledgement and constructive feedback gave us a good start and motivated us to improve even further. We are making sure that as we grow we improve and work towards perfection. As a result, we have carefully refined our gin and improved the flavour. Look out for our new improved version and other exciting products releasing soon.
